A set of steps for going up or down between floors or levels. Thai speakers use บันได for any type of stairs - wooden steps in traditional houses, concrete stairs in condos, escalators in malls, or emergency stairwells. Often combined with ขึ้น (up) or ลง (down) to indicate direction of movement.
